coffee & quitting
Question: What's the point of quitting something hard to quit when your friends won't quit with you? I've been contemplating that since last night for reasons I don't feel like going into. Suffice it to say that it only makes things harder. But you know what? Tough for them. I can still do it. Wrote a few new songs since last post, one of which is an operatic 9 minute long ode to a friend's situation. He loved it and I love it too. Parts need some reworking, though. In my head, I can hear a great disco section to it, but I don't think I have the right equipment to get it out of my head and into the computer...
Good weekend. Chicago. Always great. Two weekends ago I was in New York... Or was it last weekend? Anyway, New York was really really great. Saw my old friend Sarah. Didn't want to come home. Now I'm home and work has started in earnest and man, I don't want to live here anymore. I want to get away from everything. everything!!!
Whilst in NYC I picked up 3 DVDs: early works by Tarantino and the two Andersons, David Lynch rarities, and a Cronenberg movie called Fast Company that I'd never seen. It's about auto racing (a sport that I don't care for). The real attraction to the Cronenberg find was the fact that it came with two of his old movies that have been unavailable forever. Stereo and Crimes of the Future. Neither use sync-sound. I have yet to watch both of them but I did start both of them and was intrigued and impressed. His shot composition is unmatched in his genre.
Well, the anonymous comment on the last post was interesting. I have to admit, I have no idea who it was... Love it if you'd let me know... Shoot me an email or something. We'll communicate. Life is still weird and fairly stupid, but more so now because of where I'm living, not because of girls. Although the girl situation is still really stupid, it's become the norm so it's not bothering me as much as it did/could/should.
Lastly, anyone reading this who doesn't have Muse's newest album Absolution needs to go out and get it immediately. It's only 11.99 at BestBuy. I paid 13.99 at Meijers... But I guess I owe Meijers something...
