  Election pt. 2
One last thing I have to get out here because it's looking more and more likely (if not certainly) that Bush is getting4 more years... Here's the thing: The way in Iraq is about oil and money. Plain and simple. Nothing more. It's ignorant to think that this war is about the Iraqi people. No. The real issues here that are deciding this election are moral issues that aren't political at all. I am a WASP and and I hate that I'm associated with that group. Abortion is a woman's choice, plain and simple. Would you want someone telling you what you can and can't do with your body? I'm against drug laws also, by the way. I don't even do any drugs but I think it's ridiculous that it's illegal to do something that only affects you. Secondly, gay marriage... What's the problem with a group of people who are gay getting married to each other and being monogamous. Shouldn't monogamy be the issue. How many straight marriages end in divorce? How will allowing gays to get married hurt straight people? It won't. It doesn't affect anything. Regardless, none of these issues affect me personally because I'm a straight WASP. But I have enough gay friends and enough girlfriends whose right to choose I respect enough to have voted no on proposal 2 and a straight Democratic ticket. What is wrong with being open minded? What is wrong with situation ethics? I have several conservative friends who still respect me in spite of my views. That alone should be reason enough for them to vote Kerry, but of course they didn't. This election has been decided by a false war and religion. And you'll forgive me saying so, but this is a complete screw-job on the part of the Republicans. Ludicrous. Not that Bush being re-elected is going to affect anyone reading this adversely. But stop thinking of yourselves for a moment and think about the poor soldiers getting killed for oil and money. Think about the poor gay people who want nothing more than they're right to profess their love for each other in an official capacity. Think about the poor women who have become pregnant through rape and/or the women who have no way to support their unborn and decide that rather to bring a child into this messed up world, that perhaps an abortion is the best option. Think about that. Think about it. We're all on a bad road right now if Bush wins (and I think he has). Think about having a president who isn't as smart as you or I. Think about having a president who has no reason to act moderate anymore. Think about having a president who makes decisions based on the rich benefiting. It's so scary that I don't want to think about it anymore. I'm done. I've got nothing left. I'm happy with my life, but I can't be happy about the people that Bush is going to screw in the next 4 years. They're all screwed and America has no one to blame but themselves. A nation of morons is what we've become.

End.
